Albion and Wolves confront each other at The Hawthorns in the Black Country derby in the Premier League, with both sides struggling in the early stages of the 2011/12 campaign.
While the hosts are currently third from bottom with five points from seven matches, Wanderers have picked up two more points and are 14th in the standings.
Sunday's fixture will be important for both teams, and Hodgson is hoping for his players to come out the superior unit.
"We've had a mixed bag so far," he said. "We have the enthusiasm and desire and that's a good start.
"We were very good in the opening two games against Chelsea and Manchester United without getting any points.
"There are a lot of good players in our squad and there is no better place than a derby to get us going again." sumber

West Brom manager Roy Hodgson has dismissed reports claiming striker Peter Odemwingie requires an ankle operation.

Odemwingie featured for Nigeria last weekend as they failed to qualify for the finals of the African Nations Cup after a 2-2 draw with Guinea.
Reports in Africa had suggested the 30-year-old was carrying an injury and needed surgery, but Hodgson says he will travel to Holland with midfielder Zoltan Gera - who has an ankle problem of his own - to be given the all-clear by a specialist.
He told the club's website: "There is no question of an operation for Peter. The doctor, Mark Gillett, has a very good relationship with him and whenever Peter has a poor game he looks to his ankle.
"That's what he has been doing ever since I've been at the club, and whenever things aren't going his way and he's not in top form he looks at his ankle.
"But there is no question of him needing an operation."
